SCOTT MEIER
BARRC Co-Founder
A hands-on practitioner, Scott has been deeply committed to restoration ecology for over 30 years. In fact his passion for the environment has shaped every aspect of his life.
Since 1994, he has dedicated himself to reviving Australia’s natural landscapes, starting in the bushlands of northern Sydney. In 2000, alongside his wife and co-founder, Mandy Martin, and five others, Scott established the Bushland & Rainforest Regeneration Co-op (BARRC), which transformed into Bushland & Rainforest Restoration & Consulting in 2002. As proprietors, they have expanded BARRC’s reach, delivering a comprehensive suite of services—including assisted natural regeneration, environmental reconstruction, ecological consulting, indigenous plant supply, walking track construction, mapping, mine rehabilitation, flora and fauna surveys, and erosion control—from Sydney to the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
As a leader, Scott inspires and guides teams across both Sydney and the Mid North Coast. He passionately shares his extensive knowledge and love for the environment, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce dedicated to ecological restoration. His hands-on mentorship ensures that every team member embodies BARRC’s commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship.
A passionate advocate for practical restoration ecology, Scott grounds his work in established bush regeneration principles while pioneering innovative techniques. His expertise spans diverse projects, from rehabilitating degraded mine sites to constructing low-impact walking tracks and conducting detailed flora and fauna surveys.
As a member of the Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR) since 2001 and a committee member since 2012, Scott actively advances the restoration movement, sharing knowledge to preserve biodiversity and strengthen ecosystems that support both human communities and ancient ecological systems.
Scott brings unparalleled dedication to every project, whether restoring endangered vegetation communities or consulting on complex ecological challenges. His leadership and vision helping to restore resilient, biodiverse landscapes, leaving a lasting impact for future generations.

MANDY MARTIN-MEIER
BARRC Co-Founder
With a warm spirit and unwavering dedication, Mandy inspires those around her to join the mission of making the planet a better place. She is a driving force behind BARRC, which she co-founded with her husband, Scott Meier in 2000.
With over 30 years of experience in ecological restoration, beginning in the bushlands of northern Sydney in the 1990’s, Mandy has dedicated her life to revitalizing ecosystems across New South Wales, from the Blue Mountains to the pristine shores of Lord Howe Island.
Her expertise spans assisted natural regeneration, environmental reconstruction, ecological consulting & her knowledge of indigenous plants makes her a cornerstone of BARRC’s mission to restore Australia’s natural landscapes.
Mandy has not only led hands-on restoration projects but also managed the organization’s administrative and bookkeeping operations with precision and care. Her multifaceted role as the backbone of both BARRC and her family—raising two capable daughters alongside Scott—reflects her extraordinary ability to balance professional excellence with personal commitment.
Living on a 113-acre property in Wootton, NSW, where 110 acres are dedicated to a conservation forest, Mandy and Scott have built a sustainable home powered by solar energy and are transforming a former paddock into a thriving food forest integrated with native regeneration.
Mandy’s infectious passion for ecological restoration drives her to create lasting environmental impact. Her hands-on approach, guided by established bush regeneration principles and enriched by innovative techniques, has helped revive some of NSW’s most endangered vegetation communities.

SALLY ALLDIS
Site Supervisor
Sally’s journey in bush regeneration began in 2015 with a transformative experience in a Green Army Project on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Inspired to make a difference, she pursued a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management at Ryde TAFE in 2016, finding purpose and hope in addressing the environmental challenges of the Anthropocene. To further her expertise, she completed a Diploma of Conservation and Land Management at Ryde TAFE and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Environmental Management, at Macquarie University.
With seven years of hands-on experience across Sydney, the Central Coast, and the Mid North Coast, Sally shines as a Site Supervisor at BARRC. Her work focuses on assisted natural regeneration, bringing degraded landscapes back to life with skill and dedication. As a member of the Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR), Sally is committed to advancing the industry, learning from seasoned professionals, and inspiring the next generation of regenerators.
Sally’s vibrant energy and fresh perspective drive her advocacy for ecological restoration. She is passionate about fostering the growth of the industry and encouraging young people to join the movement to protect and restore Australia’s precious ecosystems for a sustainable future.
